Discrete Mathematics
Vertex Modeling and Coloring/Conflict Maps
In this lesson, students dipped their toes into Discrete Mathematics by learning conflict maps and vertex coloring. Students also learned about the Chromatic Number. We used our local zoo, the San Diego Safari Park, as the setting for our conflict map scenario since the Safari Park utilizes species mixing in the main exhibits in order to provide enrichment for their animals.
